The Wandering Albatross is a realistic sculpture with a 12' wingspan encasing a 100 year old skeleton. This is not only a sculpture but a very elaborate artifact mount. The skeleton is lighted with fiber-optic lighting located inside the model.
Visit the University of Iowa Museum of Natural History's website to see how we built the albatross. www.uiowa.edu/~nathist/albatross.html
Our Octopus sculpture is at the John G Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. It's tentacles are wrapped around 8 existing columns in the gift shop. If the tentacles were stretched out the sculpture would measure 52' in diameter.
